About

The Technology & Innovation Law Society was founded in 2025 by two engineers who are pursuing their Juris Doctor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Danny & Erin.

Innovating at the intersection of law and technology.

We’re building a community at the intersection of law and technology, one that champions ethical innovation and shines a light on the important work already underway. Through governance frameworks, public education, and critical conversation, we aim to support a more transparent, accountable, and just digital future. Together, we’re not just imagining what’s next. We’re helping shape it.

Our Team

Danny Moriana

Founder

Danny completed his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. For his capstone project, he leveraged open-source neural networks to segment glioblastoma from MRIs and provide critical metrics for neurosurgical preparation. Danny also worked as a software developer for Smile Digital Health, where he became fascinated with standardized healthcare data exchange, leading to his certification in Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources R4. Danny is interested in helping startups thrive in today’s innovative landscape, specifically with their IP-related hurdles.

Erin Peterson

Founder

Erin completed her bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at Queen’s University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. During her time at Distributive, a startup focused on distributed computing, she led the development of an AI platform designed with responsible implementation in mind. This sparked a deeper interest in the intersection of technology, law, and ethics. Now a JD candidate at Lincoln Alexander, Erin is focused on AI governance, algorithmic accountability, and the regulatory challenges of emerging technologies. She is passionate about shaping policy that keeps pace with innovation while promoting transparency, equity, and human rights.
